QA Incoming Parts & PCB Inspector/Auditor
The Quality Assurance Incoming Parts & PCB Inspector/Auditor is responsible for ensuring that all incoming electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and related materials meet company quality standards, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in preventing defects from entering production by performing detailed inspections, audits, and documentation of supplier-provided materials.

Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming electronic components, PCBs, and mechanical parts.
- Verify materials against engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and purchase orders.
- Inspect for defects such as solderability issues, misalignment, contamination, damage, or packaging concerns.
- Conduct first article inspection (FAI) as required.
- Inspect bare and assembled PCBs for quality, workmanship, and compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610).
- Evaluate solder mask, silkscreen, plating, trace integrity, and hole quality.
- Identify defects such as opens, shorts, scratches, warpage, and delamination
- Accurately record inspection results, non-conformances, and acceptance/rejection decisions.
- Initiate and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) for defective materials.
- Maintain inspection logs and quality records in accordance with ISO or company QMS requirements.
- Provide clear feedback to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes, and test equipment.
- Perform basic electrical checks (continuity, resistance, etc.) when required.
- Utilize automated inspection equipment (AOI) or X-ray (if applicable).
- Ensure compliance with IPC standards, ISO 9001, and industry quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes.
- Assist in developing inspection procedures, work instructions, and checklists.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) would be an asset.
- 2–5+ years of experience in quality inspection within electronics manufacturing.
- Experience with PCB inspection and electronic components.
- Strong knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610 preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, Gerber files, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, TL-9000 is an asset).
- Proficiency with inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Location: Burlington, Ontario (in-office position)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours.
Vacancy: This is a new position.
Salary Range: $40k CAD - $42k CAD
